Hewn has partnered with Nova USA Wood to pair their industry-leading Rainscreen Siding ecosystem with our Hewn product offerings. Nova’s QuickClip Rainscreen Siding System is engineered by nature to withstand the test of time and the elements. Professional builders favor their products for their high quality, high performance and consistency.
Designed for Real Wood
Real wood siding is subject to expansion and contraction in the width of the boards as a result of seasonal changes in humidity in any given individual location. Nova designed their Rainscreen QuickClip specifically to allow for this natural swelling and shrinkage in the widths of individual boards after installation. Nova’s clips are stiff enough to hold the gap perfectly during installation and yet it is flexible or resilient enough to allow the wood swell up to 1/8″ in width.
Rainscreen applications are a beautiful way to clad an exterior wall, making it less likely to suffer moisture problems that lead to rot and warping. And Nova’s unique clip design allows for a rainscreen system adapted to the wood’s natural needs.

Rainscreen Siding Benefits
A rainscreen is an exterior cladding system that is positioned away from a building’s water-resistant barrier on the outer wall. It creates an air gap directly behind the cladding, which is ventilated at both the top and bottom of the wall.
This design serves to safeguard the building’s crucial envelope by allowing any moisture that might seep through the cladding to drain away efficiently, while the airflow between the cladding and the wall promotes the evaporation of any remaining moisture through passive ventilation.
Rainscreen systems also allow for hidden fastening installation, facilitating a modern and clean aesthetic. With the recommend clip spacing of 16″, your wood siding is securely attached to your structure, without the means of attachment ever being visible.
Warranty
The Nova Quickclip system includes a limited lifetime warranty with handling and proper installation. Please refer to the standard Hewn warranty for any issues pertaining to the finish or integrity of the wood.
